EAGALA - Equine Therapy at One80Center
Equine Psychotherapist: Bernie Fried
Equine Professional: David Hooper
Assisted Psychotherapy, commonly referred to as equine therapy, promotes personal exploration of feelings and behaviors. Research has shown individuals participating in equine therapy may improve their ability to problem solve difficult issues and promote healthy relationships. Many people with addictive disorders benefit from non-verbal psychotherapy. Horses tend to be very intuitive creatures and it is amazing to observe the therapeutic benefits. At ONE80CENTER, our equine therapists make the sessions engaging, enlightening as we walk and gallop into recovery.
The EAGALA program is based out of The Red Barn adjacent to the Los Angeles Equesterian Center. This is a full service boarding facility with lots of horses, goats, dogs and sheep. Much of the success of the EAGALA program is due to the support of Anthony and Dian Sheer who's consideration and collaboration make our program at this prime location possible. We are continually grateful for his graciousness and the warmth which they welcomed us into their barn and gave the EAGALA program a home here.
